
After years of pop-ups at farmers’ markets in Rockford, Ada and Grand Rapids, a local husband and wife duo have opened a brick and mortar bakery in western Michigan. Trained pastry chef Abigail Stratton and her husband Ben celebrated the grand opening of their sweet shop earlier this month. From scones and macaroons to pies and cookie sandwiches, the bakery offers tasty and inclusive treats for everyone to enjoy. Monarch Bakery offers vegan baked goods in Rockford, Michigan.
Monarch Bakery adds to Grand Rapids’ vegan scene
The beautiful and eclectic downtown Rockford, Michigan just got a little nicer. Located in the Grand Rapids metro area, Monarch Bakery is the new one-stop-shop for vegan treats. Monarch Bakery joins the vegan scene in Grand Rapids. While the establishment isn’t a fully vegan bakery, Monarch has a wide variety of included goodies. Abigail, a trained pastry chef who graduated from Baker College’s Culinary Institute in Michigan, has been testing proven vegan sweets for several years. The rotating vegan baked goods are made with high quality ingredients and have undergone a series of taste tests before being released to the market. Plant-based customers can enjoy popular cruelty-free sweets such as coconut macaroons and French macaroons offered in a variety of flavors, vegan apple pies, cinnamon buns, cookie sandwiches, fresh danishes and decadent scones. The pastry shop also offers desserts for special occasions for parties, weddings, corporate events and more. Sweets are by far our favorite way to celebrate!
Monarch Bakery is located at 54 Courtland St, Unit D, Rockford, MI 49341. Rockford is approximately a twenty minute drive from Grand Rapids. The bakery is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Monarch is closed on Mondays.
